
The 2006 Arizona State Festival was held at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona on March 25, 2006. David Davidson was the conductor/clinician. There were over 100 people attending. Guests were Linda Maloney, Area XI Chair and Mike Mazzatenta, newly elected Area XI Chair-Elect. Mike was presented with the commission check for his piece "Processional on The Opening Bell (Bb4)" which will be used in the opening concert at "Three Times The Fun." Jennie Blomquist was thanked for serving as Arizona State Chair for two terms. John Faris of Arizona was introduced as one of the first group of people to be inducted to the Area XI Ring of Fame. The award will be presented at the Area XI Festival/Conference in Denver - June 16 to 19, 2006.

![]() Mike is donating 50% of the proceeds from the sale of the piece back to the Phyllis Anschiks' Memorial Composition Fund. Mike also was introduced as the recently elected Area XI Chair-Elect. His term of office will begin in September 2006. |
