Meet Jason Wells
jason Jason Wells founded Ring of Fire in 1997 in Hillsboro, Oregon. In the group's adventures, Jason has led them to performances in 28 states, seven countries, on national television and radio. Highlights have been performing at multiple NBA basketball games, at two Presidential Inaugurations, three times at the Crystal Cathedral, in Lincoln Center in NYC, and three performances with the Boston Pops in Symphony Hall.

Over 40 musicians have performed with Ring of Fire during the 8 years the group was based in Oregon. Today many of those alumni return to perform together for special occasions around the country. Ring of Fire will be performing during a featured concert at the International Symposium in Orlando during the summer of 2008.

During his "formative" years as a high school handbell ringer in southern California, Jason remembers attending a concert of Katsumi Kodama's Glee Ringers from Japan and being inspired to chase a similar dream here in America: Walking out on stage with a vibrant choir, playing the most exciting music written for handbells, and doing it all from the heart! Ring of Fire continues to play all concerts from memory as they have done since 1999.

Jason shares a passion for musical performances on the road with the members of Ring of Fire. While in college, Jason performed trumpet with the New England Youth Ensemble, playing extensively in 26 countries as well as five times in Carnegie Hall, under the direction of choral great John Rutter.

With the addition of a spunky daughter to Jason's life, he and his wife have relocated to Orlando, Florida where Jason works as a director in the marketing department for a large hospital system and Heather is able to stay home with Sidney.

Jason continues to actively serve as a clinician at handbell festivals and workshops both nationally and internationally, energizing choirs and working to spread his passion for excellence in handbells.
