Processional on an Opening Bell
A piece commissioned by Area XI and the Colorado Community Choirs' "Ring in the Round"

Michael Mazzatenta's Commissioned "Processional on an Opening Bell (Eb4)" to
Open Area XI Festival "Three Times the Fun" Opening Concert

Just a few months ago, Area XI and the Colorado Community Choirs' "Ring in the Round" commissioned Michael Mazzatenta to compose a processional. The "Processional" will premier at the Area XI Festival Opening Concert performed by the "Ring in the Round" choirs at Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver, CO on June 16th.

"Processional on an Opening Bell" is just that! The composition opens with the tolling of an AGEHR Festival Opening Bell - followed by a processional as choirs enter the concert hall.

Transportation to the concert and concert admission is included in the Registration for all "Three Times the Fun" attendees. Admission for the 8pm concert is $12 per person for those who are not registered for "Three Times the Fun."

AGEHR Area XI,
The Phyllis Anschicks' Memorial Composition Fund, and
From the Top Music, Inc.

The AGEHR Area XI 2000-2004 Board established The Phyllis Anschicks' Memorial Composition Fund in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers. The principal intention of the Fund is to provide monies toward encouraging new handbell compositions.

In cooperation with From the Top Music, Inc., Phyllis' "Mountain Grandeur" was published and performed as a massed ringing selection at the Area XI Festival "Rocky Mountain Rendezvous," June 2004. The Colorado State Festival used the piece at their 2005 Festival in Keystone, Colorado. Arrangements made with the Anschicks' family provide that 100% of the proceeds of sales of "Mountain Grandeur" are donated to the Fund. Area XI recognizes From the Top Music, Inc., as the sole publisher of commissions using Anschicks' Fund monies.

Contributions from the operating budget of Area XI, the Area XI Phyllis Anschicks' Memorial Composition Fund, and the Colorado Community Choir Handbell organization will pay Michael's commissioning fee. Michael is sharing his royalty payments, donating 50% of the sales proceeds to the Fund.

"Processional on an Opening Bell" is now available!!!!!!!
